New Home!
July 23, 2013
Why we had to move:

Our old eye clinic in the administrative building:

The room was too crowded for our workers and patients!
We hardly had any space to move!

We had to conduct parts of our eye exam outside.
Outdoor eye exam as our room was too small and too dark!

Preparing the new eye clinic (We renovated an old Sunday school classroom on the hospital grounds):
Old Sunday School Building that we converted
Where we are putting in a waiting room extension

We built an extension to protect patients from the heat and the bugs.

Lots of progress: the roof is on and the concrete floor is finished.

Cleaning and preparing the inside was a big project.

The kids and visitors came to help.
             Ezra the painter

                       A water system was created.

The building is finished and ready for the eye equipment.

Working to organise and take stock of all our medicine and materials.

The new eye center is finished and ready for patient visits:

Patients waiting to be seen in the newly built porch.

No need to go outside, there is enough room for all of the eye exam indoors!

We love our new home.  It gives us a glimpse into the exciting project to build a permenant home in the future - a dedicated eye centre with inpatient and outpatient facilities, optical shop, pharmacy, training centre, as well as our own operating rooms. But until then, we are very thankful for our new home and are grateful for everyone who helped make the move possible!  THANK YOU!
